Our First Week

I feel so blessed to teach this new group of students. I must say they rank at the very top of my first grade classes! These delightful boys and girls are staying on task, completing assignments, following directions, making friends, and entertaining their teacher VERY WELL!!!! I know it is going to be a FUN year! On the first day of school they were treated to 'Magic Play-doh." It started out with no color, but after a little kneading, it changed color to reveal that we are going to have a terrific first grade year!

Project USA

Project USA has to be one of my top three FAVORITE activities in 1st grade. I admit that I was hesitant to bother with it a few years ago, but I thought I would at least give it a try, and I totally fell in love with it! Each student was assigned a landmark to research. A project was completed about the landmark and much practice was put into rehearsing songs, facts, and perfect timing!!! The outcome was the sweetest, most perfect program. Is there really anything sweeter than a group of first graders singing "God Bless the USA?"

Spring Fling

There were so many exciting events at Spring Fling. There were inflatables, dancing lunchroom personnel, shadow dancing, karaoke, needles in haystacks, Mario jumping, and popsicles to name a few.

Constitution Village

We had such fun at Constitution Village. We walked on stilts, danced, met historical figures, played with old fashioned toys, and even saw animals!
